I am looking for information about Adam Fishel who died 9 Aug 1897 in Bartholomew Co, IN. He was born 25 May 1818 in Davidson Co, NC but I know nothing about his parents. He married Eliza Lydia Rominger 29 Sept 1842 who was the daughter of Johann Philip Rominger and Elizabeth Crater. Any more information about Bartholomew Co Romingers would also be welcomed.

Thomas; John Adam's parents were: Johannes Fischel & Anna Maria Schmidt; Johannes's parents were Paulus Fissel and Anna Maris Knauf; Paulus Fissel's parents were: Stoffel (Christoph) Fissel & Eliz. Hartman.
Adam Fishel was a brother to my husband's g.g.g. grandfather, William Fishel.

Would you know if Adam Fishel married Nora Elizabeth McCoy. They had a daughter Susan born in 1880 in Weed Patch Hill, in Brown County Indiana. Any help would be appriciated.

I have that this Adam Fishel married Elizabeth Ann McCoy. their daughter, Susan, married Charles Gant and all can be found in Tazwell Co. IL.

Your FISHEL responses were excellent and added some names to my file also, for which - thanks. Apparently there may have been two men named "Adam Fishel" - one ending life in IL, the other in IN. Otherwise, Adam Fishel (1818-1897) of Bart Co, IN, would need to have married again (McCoy) and been age 61 as "father" of Susan. Possible, of course.

My GILLILAND individuals in Bart County, IN, include GILLILAND spouses named: WASON, BARRETT, ROTHROCK, POINTER, DRAKE. Daughter of Elizabeth Lydia Rominger & Adam Fishel (1818-1897), Sina FISHEL m. John GILLILAND (your/your husband's line?). Walter Q BRADLEY m. Clara GILLILAND.

Lots of ROMINGER research has been done, back to Germany in the 15th century. One Rominger book is over 520 pages. Another book over 100 pages, took over 60 years' research, up to 1939.
