I am researching my GGGrandfather Ketaper (Casper) Jozwiak b.Nov. 1839 and his wife Apolonia (Paulina Ursula) Szymendera b.Feb. 1841. Emigrated to US probably through Baltimore, MD in 1899. Lived in Trotter, Fayette Co., PA in 1920 according to census. Their son my GGreat Grandfather Jan Jozwiak (John Yoswick) b. Aug 1, 1865 Germany. Came to America through Baltimore,MD 1890 and lived in Pittsburgh,Pa for the first year. Moved to Trotter, Fayette Co., PA where he was a coal miner. He brought his bride Mary Szymendera over and they had 13 children. 7 survived and they were Vincent, Leo, Stanley, Peter, Annie, Lenora, and Michael. Michael was my Grandfather who resided in Trotter,Fayette Co., PA also. He had connections to Buffalo, NY where my Mom was born and also to Baltimore, MD and Chicago, IL where he visited. Does anyone have a connection to this family?

Any possible connection to a FRANK YUZWIAK, born abt. 1862-6 in Posen, Poland (according to family legend).. also came to USA about the same time, worked in coal mines of Luzcern County, PA... story is he was one of many sons from the same family. He had a son, STANLEY JOSEPH YUZWIAK, b. 1895 in Plymouth, Luzcern Cnty, PA.

FRANK YUZWIAK married BERTHA KASMARK in Plymouth, PA in 1893

I am not sure if there is a connection to your Frank Yuzwiak. My John Yoswick was born 1866 in Germany? He had two sisters Waleria and Valerie and 1 brother, Anthony. He isn't a brother of your Frank but the way they spelled the last name he could be from the same area in Poland. They were both coal miners in PA and from Poland. I don't have a town in Poland to connect my Yoswick's with. Will keep a eye out for the name.

My Grandma was Antonina Jozwiak, she married John Dobrzynski and came to American in 1913 to Philadelphia Pa. Her Father was John Jozwiak pernounced USEVEACK in Polish. Her Mother was Tekli Glusztowski. She came to Michigan with my Dad Wallace Dobrzynski and lived in Hamtramick Michigan. She was from a Parish in Pawlowo Poland. She was Catholic.

Thank you for replying to my querry. Sounds like our family may be related somewhere. My Jozwiaks also pronounced their name Useveack amd were Roman Catholic and spoke Polish. I so far don't have any relatives in Michigan, at least not yet. The relatives I have found so far are in Western Pennsylvania, Illinois, New York and Virginia. The only clue I have had to their possible homeplace is on a census they have written Pozen Germany.

My Grandma Antonina Jozwiak married John Dobrzynski I believe in Poland and came to America 1913 through Philadelphia PA. They then moved to New Haven CT. Around Ansonia and Derby Connecticut. She had a brother and I have a picture of him and his wife. After my Grandpa John Died from Influenza she took my Father to Michigan. She was from Warsaw Poland. She was baptized in Koscielne Parish in Pawlowo (Plock) Poland.
