Seek info. and exchange regarding this early Middlesex Co. family; especially regarding several Dollance/Dollins Hagerman/Hegeman. Dollance Jr. b. ca. 1740 served in Capt. We have been reseaching my family tree and I beleive we are of this line. Dollance Hagerman shows up in the 1860 Monmouth County census along with other family members. . It is spelled Dolance. Please e-mail me. I would apreciate any info you have. Do you know if Dollance had any siblings named John or Lena?

Do you have any more information on Peter Schenck or the other immigrants at that time? Where was the port of entry? Where was the property located?

Hi, my name is Cathy Lewis, Dolance Hagerman is the 3xs great grandfather of my husband, James. Dolance's son Peter born abt. 1837 married Mary Ann Emmons in the Parsonage in Englishtown on Sept.20, 1863. The marriage record gives Dolance's occupation as a carpenter. Peter and Mary had a son, William H. Hagerman born abt. 1871 and died in 1852. He is buried in the cemetery of the Colts Neck Reformed Church. William married Caroline Crawford, daughter of Charles, Nov. 10, 1895 in the Episcopal Church of Bradley Beach, their daughter Myrtle married William Rappleyea Feb. 15, 1920, their daughter Myrtle married Clifford James Lewis, 3xs great grandson of Elias Lewis born abt. 1782, a farmer and life long resident of Howell. Anyone related to this Dolance? Would love to hear from you. Thanks, Cathy

The property sold to Peter Schenck by Dollins Hegeman was "in the county of Middlesex and province of New Jersey containing two hundred and twenty acres more or less bounded westerly by the great road that leads from Brunswick to Trenton, Southerly by land in pofsefson of Jacobus Lake and Easterly by land of or claimed by Daniel Barkelow and Northerly by land of or in pofsefsion of Frederick Melger".

I believe this land to be at Six Mile Run on the border of Middlesex and Somerset Counties, since a road map (later published by Princeton Press) shows Dollins Hageman in possession of that land in 1743. The Dollins who signed the 1766 deed references that the land was formerly owned by his father Dollins Hegeman (and that Hegeman appears to have owned the Six Mile Run property in 1743).
