Trying to locate information about his siblings. Reason to believe he is a brother of maternal grandmother. Addie McDonell. Need information also of Addie/Wm. R. Knox children if possible. But any information that you have on John Frances would be great!
Looking forward to hearing from you!

Judge McDonell is my Great Grand Father and I would love any information you may have on him .
His son Joseph Sealy McDonell is my grandfather and my father was
Davis Jackson McDonell who passed away when I was 13 in 1950. Prior to my interest in Genealogy
I have been playing around with research for years and have bits and peices in family info.
Thanks for any info

Judge John Frances McDonell is my great grandfather. His son Joseph Sealy McDonell married Willie White. They are my grandparents. Both died early and I never met them. Willie White McDonell died when she gave birth to my Aunt when my dad was 13 months old. c. 1897 or 1898. My dad was most likely raised by your grandparents. My grandfather, Joseph Sealy McDonell seemed to have traveled a lot and was executer of Judge McDonell's will. ( A copy exixts in the Levy County court house in Bronson) My dad was raised at Shell Pond He was Davis Jackson McDonell. born 1896. His father J.S. McDonell died when my father was 13 years old.
Joseph Sealy McDonell went back and forth between Archer and Jacksonville. He and his wife Willie are burried in Archer Cemetary . For many years they had no marker . With in last few years several folk got to gether and bought one and put it in the cemetary. It is now marked near the other McDonells with in the black iron fence. I would be thrilled if you could share any family folk lore you may know. You do know an old family BIBLE was donated by Joseph Sealy McDonell and is in the foyer of the Methodist Church there in Archer. It was built by donation of Judge McDonell. He had saw mill and sawed the lumber in that church.
There were, however, two Jospeh Sealy McDonell's. One the son of the Judge, and my grandfather , and other was brother of Judge McDonell. I do have info but unable to read at this time .I am having cateract surgery Dec 10 on first eye and then in Jan for second. Hopefully I can then dig in and get all this information on a disk. Which will be happy to share with all the McDonell Clan.
You realize there was some dispute of how our name was spelled McDonell or MacDonell. My father and his brother spelled it differently . My uncle changed his because some had told him that was the way it was spelled origionally. NOT SO. I have copy of 1830 Cencus records written in handwrighting of Ferdinand Donald McDonell who was father of Judge John Francis McDonell. I figgure he knew how to spell his own name. The cencus was of Nassau County that contains Amelia Island and Fernandina Beach where he lived at that time. If you have other questions I may have answers or know where to get them
