Missing MALCOLM

As a grasp at straws I am wondering if anyone has come across one
MURIEL ALICE EDGAR MALCOLM b.1894 NZ
She was my fathers half sister. She was living in Gisborne NZ at the time of her mothers death in 1941 NZ.
Her mother was MAUD ALICE TAYLOR b.c.1873 Hobart.
I can find no marriage listing for Muriel here in NZ (and under her maiden name) no listing in the search-able cemetery databases here.
She had a Great Aunt in Aus, Elizabeth WHARTON (nee Malcolm) who came out from Eng c.1870s '80s.
Perhaps she went to relatives in Australia?
Its an unknown really but I guess it doesn't hurt to ask.
Any and all information / direction appreciated.

Regards
Glenda NZ

Hi Glenda,
Your best bet may be to join sites like
www.lostschoolfriends.com.au
www.schoolfriends.com.au
www.friendsrenunied.com.au

etc...

Maybe you will find her kids or grandkids????
Your lookup isn't really genealogy based...

Hi Kellie

you would think a decendant some where would be looking. Rather large family groups of 9-12 kids.

Thanks again.

Dear Glenda,

Looked up NSW BDM and didnt find any entries for Muriel tried marriages and deaths.

There were a few entries for deaths Elizabeth Wharton but do you know her fathers name??

Looked up victorian BDM and there was one entry that matched for muriel (not with the surname but) but I used her first names and her mums first names - could be a coinsidence. But you have to pay to view the entry - so I didnt view it - hope this helps in your malcolm tree.

My Malcolm family came from Sterling in Scotland and went to Taree (NSW)

Kind Regards

Hi Judy

Muriels fathers name was Robert John Malcolm b.Nelson NZ.
Elizabeth Wharton, nee Malcolm, father was also Robert Malcolm b.Saint Martin in the Field, ENG / Mother, Louisa Ann, nee Streeter born Croydon Surry.
It would seem pretty strange for someone to have the same name coincidence? I wonder if she perhaps took the surname Taylor?
I am still none the wiser really as to where she may have gone? Thanks for looking into it for me.
Elizabeth Wharton was infact Muriels Great Aunt.

Cheers Glenda NZ

Hiya Glenda,

Thanks for the extra info, that allowed me to narrow the fields. But unfortunately I struck out on both of the "girls".

Searched the NSW and Victorian databases and didnt have a match.....

But remember anything is possible with geneology.

Bear in mind that I have found with some records here in australia, that if the person wasnt born here that the parents info wasnt alway's put in - did the family not know them or what.

Dont give up hope, there are still other states or possibly you could search shipping from NZ to Australia.....

Will remember the "girls" in case I come across something.

Kind Regards

Judy

Hi Again
Thanks for keeping my lot in mind. You wouldnt happen to have a William John Malcolm b.c 1755 who has gone astray would you? Real stab in the dark here:) I cannot find where he came from at all. Family rumour...we know how reliable that can be...puts him as being from Scotland...no facts to support this though, I have his marriage in Eng to Margaret Peever and all their children but thats it in the back in time direction. My rather big brick wall.

Anyways had best carry on.
Happy hunting.
Cheers Glenda
