I am seeking a William Grant and his wife Lois Boerch or Boirch. They lived in Washington Co., New York in 1810 when their son Billings Grant was born. Billings later moved to Wisconsin, Waukesha Co., around 1851. Billings died in 1889 in that county.

Anyone hav any information on this William Grant or his wife Lois? Any help would be appreciated.

Carol

Baldwin, WI appears to be just south of Emerald, WI in St. Croix County half way between Eau Claire, WI and St. Paul, MN.

Is your William Grant related to a John Grant m. to Sarah (Sally) Grant with 5 children, one being my g-g-grandfather, named either Newell Grant or John Grant m. to Polly Savage. They moved to Beaver Dam, WI approx. 1841. I think they came from New Hampshire.

The William Grant I mentioned was born abt. 1776 near Ft. Edward, NY. He had a brother, John, who, according to a biographer of U.S.S. Grant, removed to Illinois. He was born abt. 1790. I have no idea if this is your John Grant. It could be a relative.
