Hello,
I have only been able to trace my Bennett ancestry from Monroe, Marshall, Lafayette and surrounding counties in the state Of Mississippi in the 1830's, to Giles County, TN. in the 1820's and N. Carolina and surrounding states in the late 1760's-1800's. John B. Bennett b. abt. 1860-1870 (birth place not known and no wife's name or her info. known). but John Bennett was in Giles County, TN. in 1822 with his children then moved to MS. Most if not all were b. in NC. John B, Bennett's children are John Bennett, Jr., Hezekiah, Noah, Hugh, Elizabeth, Polly, Lydia. I'm hoping someone will be able to connect these Bennetts further back than John B. Bennett, Sr. from NC. and his siblings and parents. Thanks

My Gr-Grandfather Andrew Jacob BENNETT was born in Scotland 21 Mar 1844. His father was Thomas BENNETT born in Scotland as well. Mother unknown. Andrew was only 8 or 9 years old when his family came to America from Scotland. The Bennett family settled in the Shenendoah Valley, Virginia after the Civil War. It is believed, but has not been proven, that the Bennett family ported in Pennsylvania.

Its been said Andrew worked on the railroad, was there for the Oklahoma land rush and didn't participate.

This is the only thing I have on my Gr-Grampa Bennett. Does any of this fit with your Bennetts? Thanks a bunch. Tammi (Luv2bMomX3@aol.com)

Your line does not seem to connect to the Bennetts who immigrated from Scotland and resided in Locke, NY.
