I'm related to a Lesniak family in Buffalo NY, however, I haven't been able to find exactly when they came to the area.
My mother told me that we traveled to Pittsburgh PA when I was a baby in the 1950's, to attend a wedding of someone on the Lesniak side . My Mom doesn't remember the name of the people in the wedding, unfortunatedly.
Here are the names of some of my Buffalo relatives - you can see if any of the names look familiar:

Descendants of Jan Lesniak

Generation No. 1

1. JAN LESNIAK (MICHAL) was born 1868, and died March 06, 1917. He married TEKLA CERKIEWICZ, daughter of KAROL CERKIEWICZ and MARYA BUREK. She was born August 04, 1888 in Kolacyzce, Poland, and died May 31, 1961 in Buffalo, NY.

More About JAN LESNIAK:
Fact 1: immigration - around 1908?

Children of JAN LESNIAK and TEKLA CERKIEWICZ are:
i. CHARLES LESNIAK, b. 1904.
2. ii. JOSEPH LESNIAK, b. 1907.
iii. JOHN LESNIAK, b. November 06, 1912.
iv. VICTORIA LESNIAK, b. 1915.

Generation No. 2

2. JOSEPH LESNIAK (JAN, MICHAL) was born 1907.

Children of JOSEPH LESNIAK are:
i. CONRAD LESNIAK, m. BERTHA.
ii. JOAN LESNIAK, m. EDMUND DANNER.

Notes for EDMUND DANNER:
Colin Barrick's godfather

iii. LEONA LESNIAK.

Claudia: thanks for your response; however,I know so little of the Lesniak side of my family that I can't even tell yet, whether the names you gave me are related to my family! But I'll keep the names, and let you know if there are any further connections. Thanks again for your help.

Hi,
My Tekla Lesniak(born about 1844) is my great-great-grandmother, she married Michal Burek(born about 1840), probably about the 1860's. I have found reference to her living in the Austrian part of Poland (Galicia), in a town called Kolaczyze. The only child that I know about is Marya Burek, who died in Buffalo NY in 1929. I don't know if Tekla was widowed married anyone else - the information on the Lesniak side of my family is a little sparse.
What's interesting is that Marya Burek married Karol Cerkiewicz, had a daughter who was also named Tekla(my grandmother), this Tekla married a Jan Lesniak. So she would have had a married name of Tekla Lesniak, until Jan died, she later re-married.

my grandfather Joseph Kokolus immigrated through Poland/Austria in 1902. First settled in Reading and Allentown, PA and finally in Carteret, NJ. Know he had twin brothers named Peter and Paul, possibly sister Anna. Believe his Mother's first name of Maria. Hope this might be of some help

I'm interested in more info about a Ynifer Kokolus b 1890 bur near Carteret NJ, along with Paraska b 1898. Do you know if either has a connection to your line? The family of Ynifer lived mainly near Allentown. I find him on the 1910 census in Lehigh Co PA single, living near Joseph Kokolus b 1879. Thanks.
