Hello...I'm trying to clear up some confusion. I'm listing brief information, maybe someone can help me. FAMILY: Peter Coblentz b. 1732 d. 1808 in Middletown, MD. In 1759 he married Susanna Keller b. 1733. They had the following children: 1) Alittleson b 1760??? 2) John Adam Coblentz b. 5-19-1762 3) Elizabeth Coblentz b. 1-17-1764, all children born in Frederick Co., MD. I'm finding that people are listing Alittleson b. 1760 with no other information and i've emailed them for it and they have no documentation. I'm trying to connect my 3rd great grandfather John Coblentz b. cir 1762 m. Elizabeth Eckard/Ecard to the Peter Coblentz line. Does anyone know about this 1) Alittleson b. 1760??? Could this be my John Coblentz? Maybe you have some records on John Coblentz and Elizabeth Eckard? Any clues would help. Thanking you in advance for you time and help.

Myrna

Was your John Coblentz born in either 1777 or 1779? Peter Coblentz had two wives; Susanna Keller and Elizabeth Hesson. Susanna and Peter had three children: an infant boy (1760), John Adam *my ancestor* (1762-1838), and Elizabeth (1764-1822). Susanna died in 1764 and Peter quickly married Elizabeth Hesson. They had 9 children: Mary Margaret (1765-1849), Catherine (1767-1849), Major Peter (1769-1851), Jacob (1772-??), Julianna (1775-1846), John (1777-1848), John Philip (1779-1859), George Coblentz, (1783-1839), and Daniel (1787-1861).

This means Peter had three sons; John Adam, John, and John Philip, who could be your missing relative. They were all born in Maryland. These names and dates come from the book The Coblentz Family in America, 1743-1982 compiled by Ruth Coblentz, which I have borrowed from my mother. I am hoping to connect my gr gr grandmother, Sarah Coblentz Fuehrer (or Fear), b. 1844 in Montgomery Co. OH, d 30 May 1882, in Dayton. I know her maiden name to be Coblentz from funeral records. She is buried at Woodland Cemetery, Dayton. Census data show her father to have been born in Maryland, and I am assuming she is a descendant of John Adam Coblentz, or one of the other Coblentz' from Frederick Co MD. that settled in Montgomery. Co. in the early 1800s. A possible (probable?) census listing of this Sarah A Coblenz is 1850 Wayne, Montgomery Co, Ohio, which has a houehold consisting of:
Elizabeth Coblentz, age 27.
Sarah A Coblentz, age 5,
Daniel age 4
Dachara age 1.
No father is listed, and I cannot be sure that Elizabeth is Sarah's mother, as relationships were not given in the record. Living next door was the household of Daniel Coblentz, age 37.
Any information on any of these Coblentz, and how they relate to the Maryland Coblentz families would be appreciated.

Myrna, My 4th great grandfather was Johannes/John Coblentz who married Elizabeth Ecard. I believe his father was Philip Coblentz, brother to Peter and Herman. Search "Peter Wolfe"+"Jacob Coblentz". You should find results that show the settlement of Philip's estate with a list of his nine children. I believe the John in Ohio is the John Coblentz who moved to Columbiana Co, OH in 1804. That John, I believe, was the John b. 1764 who married Elizabeth Ecard. Please contact me at jchap617@yahoo.com for more information. Jane

I am looking for Helene,Zacharias, Caroline, and Felix Coblentz who came from Lixheim, France to Baltimore, MD Their parents were Emmanuel Coblentz and Babette Simon. Their granparents were Gerson Coblentz and Caesler Dreyfuss. It shows that all 4 Coblentz were born around 1856

My email is mpajd11@msn.com -- any idea? Any Coblentz?
