This is for Leah Ray SWINDLE. I just wondered where your SWINDLE family came from. I have an ancestor William CONINE, who was married the first time to Eliza SWINDLE. William and Eliza were married 26 Dec. 1839 in Greene Co. GA. I believe Eliza died in Tallapoosa Co. AL. I do not know exactly when she died, but William CONINE married 2nd time to Arrena COLEMAN, 24 Nov. 1846. This marriage probably took place in Tallapoosa Co. AL, but I'm not real sure, perhaps it might have been Chambers Co.

If you could shed some light on the SWINDLE family I would really appreciate it.

Thanks, SHEILA (CONINE) FORESTER

I have a g gfather named John Paul Jones, married to Sarah Catherine Norris. J P J's father was Pinkney Monroe Jones, married to Lucinda Driver, and Pinkney's father was Charles Pinkney Jones married to Tersie(Teresa) Dennis. Is this possibly the John Paul Jones you have in your line? They ones I have in my line were in the Coosa, Chilton, Tallapoosa Counties.

My husband's Swindle people are from the Jasper, Walker County, AL area, and I don't think of any that lived in Tallapoosa County. I will re-check some of his information, but I don't remember the name 'Eliza' at all.
I'll get his file and check on it.

i have been noticing these two...irvin jones and harriett messick.
i have both surnames, and would like to find a connection to them.
my family were from montgomery, crenshaw, pike, covington barbour and butler counties in alabama.
before ala., they were in georgia.
i have not been able to gather very much info, tho.
my line was ..my grandma martha matilda alice butts m. james clayton messick (son of george c. messick)
martha's dad was henry lucas butts, her mom was mary anne eunice jones.
mary anne's mom was named matilda, and that's as far as i can get.
all these people were in the pike/crenshaw co. area, in the mid to late 1800's.
i am told that some of my joneses ran a stagecoach line from troy to birmingham.
does anyone know this line?
any help appreciated.

I also am researching the Jones in Tallapoosa Co., Alabama. Irvin was married to Harriet Messick dau. of D.D. Messick and Sarah Brown. Irvin's father was Joseph Jones and mother was Jane Nelson. Irvin's grandson, Irvin Alexander Jones was my grandmother, Abby Jones Dyar's, father. I would appreciate any information. My ggrandmother, Ada Collins Jones died at an early age leaving two young daughters, one my Grandmother Abby. He remarried Neetie Frances Deloach Osborne and together they had eight more children.
