Surnames: Buckham, Henderson, McLean, Robson, Young
Andrew BUCKHAM (christened Mar. 28 1797, Jedburgh, Roxburghshire, Scotland) and Margaret ROBSON (chr. Feb. 21 1796, Eckford, ROX) married in Scotland some time around 1820 and later emigrated to Chinguacousy Twp., Peel Co., Ontario (probably in 1831, when Margaret's parents Thomas ROBSON and Jane CLARK and their other children did).

I know about the following children of Andrew & Margaret: (1) Janet, chr. Jul. 17 1824 Eckford, m. John HENDERSON about 1840 in Chinguacousy, at least 6 children; (2) Jesse, chr. Apr. 29 1827 Jedburgh; (3) James, m. (a) Janet GIFFEN Nov. 1852 in Chinguacousy (b) Jean KIRKWOOD 1861 in Chinguacousy, at least 12 kids; (3) Margaret, b. 1834 in Chinguacousy, m. James R. YOUNG; (4) Euphemia, b. 1838-1839 in Chinguacousy; (5) Isabella, b. 1839-1840 in Chinguacousy, m. Lachlin McLEAN, at least 3 kids.

I am looking for information on any connected BUCKHAMs, HENDERSONs, YOUNGs and McLEANs, or any other descendants of Andrew & Margaret.

Also, Margaret's uncle William ROBSON and his family apparently emigrated to N. Monaghan Twp., Peterborough Co., Ont. at about the same time. There are BUCKHAMs in that area too. Is there a connection with the Chinguacousy families?

I would be grateful for any information that anyone has.

Earlier this evening I came across you inquiry of 28 Janaury 2002, regarding the history of the Buckham/Robson families.
I am not a descentent of either family but I do have some information about them. James Ried Young, born 5 Janaury 1831 was the oldest brother of my great-great grandfather, Dr. Matthew Young, V.S. Both were the sons of James Young, 1789-1885 and Janet Ried, 1809-1851. After his graduation from the Toronto Veterinary College he established himself at Stayner, Ontario, where he was a neighbour and the closest of friends of a John Spiers Robson, whom, I am told had once been a neighbour at Chinuacousy. J.S. Robson was a pioneer in southern Manitoba and was influencial in having Dr. Young establish himself in the same community in which I grew up. I believe I might have some additional data concerning some of these families, which I would be glad to share with you if it were of any interest. I have no doubt that in the two years since you posted this message you will have made considerable progress in your family research and perhaps have all that you need. I would be pleased to hear from you at your convenience.
With warm good wishes,
