I have a friend name William Robert Terrell the son of Samuel Richard Terrell. William was born in Tx. His father was living in OK.
William is living in LakeCity Florida which is 45 min. away from Jacksonville. Could we have a connection?

I don't know if this is a connection or not.
My william Terrell was born in DeKalb Co. about
1843 I think. He married a Mariah Carlisle from
DeKalb Co. Ga. They were living in Fulton Co.
on land that was given to him by his G-Grandfather
william Terrell, of DeKalb Co. He fought in the
Civil War and during that time they lost all
that tract of land. We don't know exactly what
happened. There's more but not enough room to tell
all about his life and family. Maybe there is
some connection I don't know yet.

Have you checked Emma Dicken's book for Terrell
history? Also check with Terrell Society of
America.

I am descendant of William Terrell and

William Terrell, Sr. (aka "Uncle Billy Terrell") married Mary "Polly" Baker. They had one child only. Her name was Mary "Polly" Terrell.
Mary "Polly" Terrell married Isaac Ford. They had four children: William Ford, Saleta Ford, Mary Ford, and Coleman Ford. Mary "Polly" Terrell Ford dies when Coleman was just 4 months old. William and Mary "Polly" Baker Terrell finished raising their grandchildren.
When Mary Ford was grown, she married(or had a child with out of wedlock with), Jack Lee/Clee. It is uncertain if they were married. Mr. Lee/Clee left and Mary died just one hour after giving birth to her only child, later named William Terrell (aka William Terrell Ford) by his grandparents. His grandparents, William Terrell and Polly Baker Terrell raised him in their home from the time he was one hour old. His grandfather, William Terrell, called him William Terrell because he didn't want him to bear the name of Clee or Lee, as he didn't like the man, Ford being the last name of his mother, when "little Billy" aka William Terrell Ford was born.
If you are interested in all the documentation for this information, I would be happy to forward to you the 60 page court transcript from the Georgia Supreme Court in 1899 as soon as I am finished typing it up from the copy of the original :-) There is a lot more information included in it. My sister, Ami Hart, and I found the original case file from the law suit of the heirs of William Terrell against W.C. Gill and Lucy Johnson in an old box that was uncatalogued and in the basement of the Georgia State Archives just two weeks ago! :-)

Hey, sorry I have not replyed to your post sooner. I did find our William Terrell family on rootsweb.com not long ago. The line goes back to Bibical times. They are decended from the Kings and Queens of England. I would like to know if I could why they left the old country to come to America and its seems they lost all contact with family from where they came from. Iam interested in their life in Fulton County Georgia also, if you have anything on that part. We didn't know many of our Terrells in growing up. I am particlar interested in the Trial and Conviction of our William Terrell and his confict with the Fords of Fulton and Dekalb counties. Where would I find the Emma Dickens book and the Terrell Society of America?
