I am keen to find information on a William John THOMPSON who married Mary DENT in 1893 at the parish church of Saint Michael, Appleby, Westmorland, England. According to the marriage certificate he was a gamekeeper at Flakebridge (? spelling) and his father was a Donald THOMPSON, also a gamekeeper. If you have any clues i would love to hear from you. Cheers, Leah

Leah,I have traced my ancestor from Troy & Utica MI. to Troy, NY. where they were members of St. Peters Catholic Church. My G-G-G Grandfather came from Eng. & was a drummer in the Eng. army stationed in Ire. where he met my Grandmother, Catherine Murphy. They married & came to the Troy, NY about 1830. I cannot make a connection to Eng. so I'm in the same fix as you are, hoping i can find a connection. If you think there could be any chance of a connection my e-mail Verjim208@aol.com regards Jim
