MELCHOR ENGLE BOOK on the Internet

THE MELCHOR ENGLE FAMILY HISTORY AND GENEALOGY 1730-1940 by Winfield S. H. Engle can be found in HTML format on the Internet at:

http://www.geocities.com/pbs33176/Melchor.html
or
http://us.share.geocities.com/pbs33176/Melchor.html

The book is 500 pages long and has over 25 pictures, so it take quite awhile (about 5 minutes) to download
on a slow server-connection like mine. I scanned it in and converted it with an OCR program. Although I spent some time editing it; every time I look at it, I find transcription errors. Fortunately, the meaning is usually obvious from context.

A FULL-COLOR version of the ENGLE COAT OF ARMS can be seen at:

http://www.geocities.com/pbs33176/arms.html
or
http://us.share.geocities.com/pbs33176/arms.html

The .GIF picture is shown half-size in the HTML program, but its actual dimensions are 972X1176 pixels.

Shortly after uploading the Melchor Engle book files to the (free) geocities web-page site, I received an e-mail from Yahoo! congratulating me on my popularity and informing me that they were temporarily TURNING MY SITE OFF to keep the bandwith (data transfer) within their limit (3 gigabytes/month calculated on an hourly basis). Sorry if this has inconvenienced anyone besides myself.

THE MELCHOR ENGLE FAMILY HISTORY AND GENEALOGY can NOW be found on my paid-service homepage at:

http://home.att.net/~peters1/Melchor.html

and the a FULL-COLOR ENGLE COAT OF ARMS at:

http://home.att.net/~peters1/arms.html

I don't know what restrictions (if any) will be found there. The Melchor book still takes a little over 5 minutes to download through my service.

Peter,
That was wonderful that you've taken the time to do that for everyone. I went to the first site you named in your first posting, I have RoadRunner, it took less than a minute. I have a George Engle that I'm looking for, the information that I have I gleaned from a 1860 Pennsylvania Census, he was born in Pa in 1831, this George would be my GGGrandfather. I've not been able to connect my George with Melchor's immediate decendants, but I plan on reading "the book." Thank You again. Nancy

I'm just trying to help a new friend of mine...she is and Engle from NJ...South Jersey...

Her Grandfather had about six children:
John
Earl
Francis
Joseph
Mary
Florence

I will have to get more data...

I think they may have come from Pa?

Info is sketchy right now...

Can you help me with this?
