Hello Leo,
I am so delighted that you answered my query. Fague Springman is a relative of my Mother. His Grandmother and my Mothers Grandmother were Sisters. He has passed away, but I am hoping to locate his Children in hopes of maybe finding a picture of his Mothers Grandmother.
I think it is wonderful that you have a record of his, is there anyway that you might be able to make a copy of the cover with his picture on it for me? I would really appreciate it if possible. Also I have a copy of his obituary if you are interested.
Thanks so much,
Terry Thompson

It is wonderful that you have the genealogy back that far. Fague was an only child and only had 2 children that I have not been able to locate yet,so our Springman line is gone.
Thanks,
Terry

I don't know if you ever received an answer to this but Fague was my mother's cousin and he is buried in the Cranford United Methodist Church graveyard in Lorton, Virginia. His mother (Helen Duvall Springmann (1892-1969)and his wife, Connie are also buried there (along with many of the Duvall relatives). Fague was born in 1922 and died in 1983. Connie died in 1993. I don't know where Noel lives (the last I heard she lived in Florida) but Franz is an attorney and lives in east Tennessee (look him up on google and it will give you the address and telephone number. Hope this helps. Jane Fuller mfuller3@cox.net

I knew Fague in the 60's when he was the music director. I was just a kid then, but remember him well. He had some type of falling out at my church (4th Presbyterian). I remember one time, he came back to visit, but refused to sing. Think it was some fallout between him and Dr. Halverson, minister at that time.

I recently dug out and began to play four 33 1/3 rpm records Fague Springman recorded in the early 50's.
I was a student of Fague Springman's at the University of Maryland in the mid to late 50's. He was an Asssitant Professor in the Music Deaprtment and also led the Men's Chorus,Women's Chorus and University Chapel Choir. (I was President of the choir.)
The last time I saw Fague was when I visited him in Takoma Park, Maryland the summer of 1958. He and his wife were greaving the loss of their daughter who was laid out in a casket in their living room. The daugher had been the poster child for, I believe, the Lukemia Association, in the mid 50's.
Fague came to the University after a carrer in New York where he was the soloist at Radio City Music Hall. He also had performed at Carniege Hall and was solosit on the Bell Telephone Hour TV Show. He was also choir director at Fourth Presbyterian Church which relocated from downtown Washington to the Maryland surburban area in 1955 or 1956.
I can possibly provide additional informatiuon if you wish to contact me.
Sorry for the long delay in contacting you but I just found your info by googling Fague Springman the internet today.
