Searching for any information about siblings, parents, and ancestors of George BOYD who was born about 1845, possibly in MA; married to Martha UNKNOWN; had three known children as follows: (1) Carry BOYD, born about 1868 in NYS; (2) Earl BOYD, born 1873, Ellington, Chautauqua Co, NY; married Bertha PRICE who was born about 1875, also believed to be in Cherry Creek, Chautauqua Co, NY. It is not known when or where they married, or how many children they had. It is known that they had a daughter Everald T. BOYD, born 20 Aug 1897 in Cherry Creek, Chautauqua Co, NY, died 21 Aug 1975 in Leon, Cattaraugus Co, NY; and who married Harlo Dan MILLIMAN in Jamestown, Chautauqua Co, NY on 29 Jan 1920 (This family information appears in Ancestral File, but only the information contained in this query presented in this source.); and (3) Mable BOYD, born about 1877 in NYS. Would appreciate receiving any information about the BOYD and PRICE families of Chautauqua or Cattaraugus Counties, NY, or leads to others researching these families. I have lots of information on the MILLIMAN family. Will trade information!
Warmest Regards,

Martha (Rublee) Boyd's spinster sister was Lydia Huldah Rublee. I had not known previously what happened to Martha, so am very happy to have picked up this conversation. I have an extensive database on the Rublee family, if more information is needed. There is also a mailing list Roblee-L at Rootsweb, and a website at www.robleeonline.org/

Cindy,
Thanks for the information, and getting back to me so quickly. I share some quotes with you. The first is from Henry Z. Jones, Jr., author of THE PALATINE FAMILIES OF NEW YORK, A Study of the German Immigrants Who Arrived in Colonial New York in 1710, Universal City, CA, 1985, p. xvii. “. . . Like so many of us, I have learned over the years that genealogy is not only a comfort and companion, but also a challenge; it gives us the opportunity to exercise our intellect, trust our instincts, and, by getting in touch with the past, leave a worthwhile legacy for the future . . .” The second quote is by Mike Miliken “. . . Genealogy also brings together some incredibly nice people whose kindness renews our faith in humanity.” The third is from Bob Clark “And a pleasant add-on is the opportunity to meet so many nice people, whether on the internet, in libraries, or at seminars or meetings.

Dee, it was good to hear from you again. Thanks for all the great information. I now have a website at DrDixonGStevens.org It is not exactly up to date, and is still in the construction stage, but there are several hundred family group sheets available, with many families with Chautauqua Co ties. Check it out and get back to me with any suggestion you might have for improvements. Dixon

Donna, Good to hear from you, and yes, I do remember you very well. Thanks for all the great information. How is your genealogical reserch going? Broken down any brick walls lately. Hope to get to a Chautauqua Co Gen Soc meeting soon. We have a joint meeting with Cattaraugus Co Gen Soc coming up 1 Apr 2003 in Falconer.
