From "Early History of MI with Biographies of State Officers, Members of Congress, Judges & Legislators" 1887, Lansing: Thorp & Godfrey, State Printers & Binders.............................
"Marshal REED.... Representative from Lenawee Co in 1875, was born in Richmond, NY. Aug 21, 1833. He received a common school education, removed to MI in 1855, and settled in Rome, Lenawee Co. He has held the offices of school inspector and justice. His occupation is that of farming. In politics a Republican."

Is this the same Marshal REED whose parents were Moses, bn 1789 MA & Phebe bn VT abt 1795? If so, I would like to learn more about his family and descendants.

I saw your query on the Lenawee Co. message board. The book: "Pioneer Families of Southeastern Michigan" lists a Marshall Reed born Aug 21, 1833 in Richmond, NY - moved to Rome Twp., Lenawee Co., MI. Married Julia Barrus and settled in Cambridge Twp. Children: 1.Frederick P.; 2.Alice C.; 3.Byron L. Marshall Reed was the son of Wheeler Reed born ca. 1788 VT; who was the son of Philip Reed born 1756 in Saybrook, Conn.; who was the son of Jacob. If you think this is the right family that you are researching, you can e-mail me with your address and I will send you a copy of the page from the book as there is much more information.
