Sue:
I, also, have the pension application for Charlotte J. Lollar. It appears that she was living with her sons, James R. Bickerstaff and our David Randolph Bickerstaff when the application was made on July 4, 1915. Their houses must have been nearby.

James R. is buried in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lee Co., MS (according to Willie Sue Vieira) and David and his wife, Lena, are buried in Boguefala Baptist Cemetery in Lee Co.

Charlotte is in the Rockwall Co., TX 1900 Census, but I am wondering if that might be Charlotte T. Lollar.

We had just started researching the Bickerstaffs when we went to the Boguefala Cemetery, so I don't really know who is buried there except our David's family. We did find infant Fred Bickerstaff's grave-son of James R. and Violet Watson Bickerstaff
there. Sorry I can't help you with Charlotte J.

Someone may have filled out the application for her as her husband's name was listed John L. rather than John R.

Please let me know if you are successful in finding her burial site.

I;m pretty certain that the James R. Bickerstaff you refer to (buried in Oak Hill Cemetery) was my great grandfather! My grandmother Flanagin was Lottie Jane BICKERSTAFF. I know that her parents were Jim Bickerstaff and Violet Watson. Thanks to being persistent and finding you, I just realized that I actually have picutres I took of their tomstones when I visited Oak Hill Cemetery a few years ago.You weren't aware, but you are helping me fit the pieces of puzzle together! Sue: James R. Bickerstaff and Violet Watson had nine children: Fred, Lottie Jane, Clyde Elmo, Annie Beatrice, William Aubrey, James Vandrey, Arthur Herman, Vera Verlon and an infant daughter. Fred and the daughter died in infancy. James R. Bick's parents were John Russell Bick and Charlotte J. Lollar. They had eight children. Send me your e-mail if you want info on these Bickerstaffs.

i am looking for Edna Vincent Bickerstaff she died in Memphis in 1911 and at her parents but they are all from Franklin & Colbert Co., AL. I can't find out which bickerstaff she was married to. The burial certificate states she is buried in Shefffield, AL. DFoes any of this ring a bell? Thanks been searching for her Bickerstaff for years! They would have married between 18800-1900. in AL I belive because her parents didn't move to Memphis until 1899. Thanks
