Edward Bailey born 8/1814 in Holden Massachusetts married Caroline Hubbard. They are my gg grandparents. They sailed to Hawaii where they were teaching missionaries and lived for 55 yrs. His father was James Bayley DOB Oct.1780, East Orange New Jersey. Need info on ancestors of this James Bayley(Bailey). This James married Elizabeth Gleason from Marlboro Mass (1808??) and raised family in Holden Massachusetts.

Hey there! Finally found someone from the right line. I'm a descendant of Edward...just starting my research, but mom and I have some information on Edward and family from many trips to Maui and his house. I also have photo's of his home and furnishings (now a museum) as a descendant they let me take some w/ out flash, but they turned out pretty good.

Email me @ Mickeyfan3@aol.com.

I also get a sporadic newsletter from the islands about family gatherings. They have a reunion around 7/19 of each year.

Hi,
Not sure if we are researching same line. I'm a descendant of Edward Bailey father of James Clark Bailey, father of Harry Bailey, father of John K Bailey (my grandfather). Edward Bailey built the Bailey House now a museum. I have no dates on anyone except John K Bailey DOB 5/30/1911 - DOD 10/27/1961. Is your Edward the same as mine? Thanks

Edward Bailey

Aloha, cousin!
Yes, it's the same Edward. I've just started doing all the research, and am waiting for a copy of the Bailey family tree from the Historical Society.

My mom's on a trip @ present, and I need to double check this. Her grandparents are John and Nora Mae "LeiLani" Zumwalt. I believe my great grandmothers maiden name was Cannon, and she's the granddaughter or great granddaughter of Edward. The copy of the family tree that we had disappeared after my grandma passed away in 1995.

Feel free to email me at Mickeyfan3@aol.com. You didn't leave your em address.

Did you receive last message? I too am looking for info on Edward and Caroline. I'll be getting their family tree, in descending order, but don't know what appears before them. Maybe we can share info?

Hi, or should I say Aloha. I just now saw your message from 9/99. Yes, it's the same family. I have info back to the 1600s if you are interested. I was born and raised in Hawaii (until1962). My dad spent summers at the Bailey house when his grandad, Ed Bailey Jr. lived there. I would be glad to send info. I have tons of vital records and docs. We went to Holden Massachusetts in 11/98 and got tons more from the historical society. Happy to share if you are interested.

Yes, Im sure it is.Edward and Caroline were my gg grandparents. Their son, Edward Jr was my g grandfather, his daughter, Mary Bailey Bal was my grandmother, her son, John Bal,was my father. I have info back to the 1600s on one line of the Baileys and info to the 1700s on others. Visited Massachusetts in 11/98 and went to Holden. The town historian gave us the grand tour along with books, charts, documents and pictures. After many years of searching, I finally found the final resting place of Caroline and Edward. Looks like a James Bailey owned the plot....might have been your James. If you are interested I would be glad to share my info. My email address is grichardson@co.sanmateo.ca.us and my day time phone is (650) 595-7941.
