Have you seen the 1850 census records for Sullivan County Mo? It says that Ira B Sevier was a California gold digger. My aunt mentioned that she remembers hearing that her ggranpa Zachariahs father had left him at an early age.

Yes, I have seen the 1850 Sullivan Co., MO. census. There is supposedly an I.B. Sevor listed in the 1850 Yolo Co., CA census; however, Ira B. appears again in the 1860 and 1870 Sullivan Co., MO censuses. The 1880 Sullivan Co., MO census lists Elizabeth as a widow, but Ira
B. is listed that same yr. on Jasper Co., MO census, and again in 1900 for Jasper Co. Affidavits from neighbors and his Dr. re: invalid pension application attest they have known him since 1876.
