First information I have on Crofoots in this country is a Joseph Crofoot, Springfield, 1658, freeman1672, died April 8, 1678. Leaving Joseph, Mary, John, Samuel, James,Matthew, and David. He is spoken of in the "Genealogy of the Puritans" pages 767 and 768. My information came from a
George W Wing of Kewanee WI booklet that was in some family papers. Your Edward B relative is listed in the 6th generation of Crofoots in America paper that I have. We are of the line of Nellie B Crofoot Conley's son Lewis A Conley. I am looking for any information on Nellie's marriage to her Conley husband.

It's a mystery .. what happened to the Charles Crofoot family?

I am looking for information on Charles L. Crofoot, his wife Julia Etta (Burton) and children Thomas Walter (b.1874 in WI), Clara Belle (b.1880 in Kirwin, KS) and Nellie May (b. 1884 in Hamilton Co, NE).

My ggrandmother was Julia's sister, Isabell Burton Davis Pollard. All three families, Crofoot, Burton & Davis, were from Winnebago & Fond du Lac, WI counties.

Isabell married Thomas Davis and Julia married Charles Crofoot in the early 1870s. Both familes lived in Kirwin, KS where each family had a child. The Davis family moved to Sutton, NE in 1879 where Thomas died. According to the 1880 NE census Isabell & her daughter moved in with the Crofoots in Aurora, Hamilton Co., NE.

In 1883 Charles Crofoot purchased a pre-emption claim on 160 acres in Hamilton Co., NE which he turns around and sold to his sister-in-law Isabell in 1885. The Crofoot family is listed in the 1885 NE state census, but after that ...nothing!

I've never been able to find anyone of these Crofoots on any census after 1885. Can anyone help?
