I'm totally blocked at the pedigree of my great-great grandfather, Charles E Willett. He was born about 1832, married Louisa Sewell Soule in 1858 in Woolwich Maine and died, lost at sea 4 March 1872. There is no record of him in Woolwich prior to 1860 Census and I can't find record of him prior to that. He was a fisherman but that's all I know. Anyone got any ideas? Thank you, thank you. Susan

Is it possible he was originally French Canadian? Ouellet or Ouellette? Something like 10% of Northern New England's current population descend from folks who came south to work in the mills and factories during the Industrial Revolution.
