Looking for information on the family of Martha Allen, b. between 1766 and 1784 per census data, married John Scott, b. bef 1766 per census data. They had a son, Elisha, b. abt 1806 in Iredell County, NC. (since these dates are based on census data, there is obviously some leeway <G>). Per the 1810 census, they had 3 sons (including Elisha) and 2 daughters all born between 1800 and 1810, so I am guessing at a marriage date not long before 1800.

Elisha Scott was a blacksmith in Cabarrus County in 1850 and probably died between 1850 and 1860. He married Mary Nancy Kimmons in 1845, she died in 1846, leaving one child, Mary or Mollie Harris Scott.

The 1790 census for Iredell County, NC, shows:
p. 156 Moses Allen 3 males 16+ and 6 females
p. 157 Drury Allen 1male 16+, 3 under 16 and 8 females. (page numbers are from the 1790 Heads of Household in the 1790 census book on NC, rather than page numbers from the census originals).

Don't know if either of these is the father of Martha Allen. Any information would be appreciated.
Thanks,

A pretty remote chance you might come across information that I'm looking for, but...

I'm trying to locate information about Richard Young ALLEN from (somewhere in) N. Carolina. He was born abt 1854 and moved to Ellis Co., Texas and was married there in about 1875. Handwritten records I have state:

1880 census, Vol. 10 - Ed - 47 Sheet 18 - line 16.

Richard Young ALLEN, 26, No. Carolina
Eugenia Crawford ALLEN, 22, wife, Texas
Franklin Pierce, 2, Texas
Richard J., 1, Texas
Lee ALLEN, brother, No. Carolina

If you should come across anything where his name pops up, I would be most grateful to hear from you.

Thanks in advance,

There were two Richard Allens in Henderson County NC, Sr. and Jr. one died in 1843 and the other in 1853. I don't think either were the father of your Richard but might be a grandson of Richard Jr.

Thanks for the information. If anyone else reading this can add information about either of these Richard ALLENS it will be very much appreciated. I'm trying to find the names of the parents of Richard Young ALLEN born about 1853 in NC. I have nothing else to go on.

Many thanks
