I was in the record office Matlock last week researching family in Ashover. There are a number of Cupit/Cupid names in the Ashover records as it's not far from Chesterfield I wonder if there is a link? If you also go onto the genuki website for Ashover you can follow some of the links to Ashover records and see if you can find anyone relevant from there. Not all the records of the parish are online but the few that are might help.
