Hi There

I read with interest your query on the message board. My Wrigley connection is with Charles Wrigley who married Mary Kershaw in Halifax sometime between October and November 1871. Their son Arthur emigrated to New Zealand with his first wife Annie Bentley - they are my great-grandparents on my father's side.

I come from the Saddleworth Wrigley's also. Not sure how they connect. From my info, James Wrigley Born in 1837, came from Benjamin born in 1814 married to Ann, whose father was Issac Samuel Wrigley born in 1790 married to Sallie Shaw? Does anyone have any more info or connection to this?
Thanks!

Hi Kevin,

I am looking for my Wrigley family. My gggrandfather was John Wrigley b. abt 1821 in West Riding, Saddleworth, Yorkshire, England. He marries Jand Gudgeon who he met while in Russia. They had two children in Russia, moved back to England, had 4 more children, then moved to Ontario, Canada. I figure they were in Ontario about 1870. One the Ont. census my ggrandfather William was 10 months old and had been born in Canada.

If you could provide me with any info it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Merrlee

John Wrigley was my gggrandfather, too. His daughter Sarah Jane (b. 1858 in Yorkshire) was my grandfather's mother. She would have been your great-grandfather's older sister. The John Wrigley family emigrated from England to Canada in 1866. Someone else found the ship's register and posted it to Ancestry. I'm interested in the Russia connection. I wonder what John and Jane Gudgeon were doing there.
