I have information that my great-great grandmother, Christina CAMPBELL bc 1825 was from Arichonan. Is anyone reasearching the Campbell's from this area? We have been unable to find Christina's birth. Family legend has it that her father used to walk many miles each Sunday to preach. She married Donald McCALLUM on the 29th January 1846 by Rev'd Mr McKenzie of Lochgilphead in the Parish of North Knapdale. Banns were proclaimed on the 17th January in that parish and on the 18th January in Glassary as Donald was of Moinirach of that Parish.

Hi Chris - I have been struggling to find the names of the two Campbells who married the two McCallum sisters. However, I believe the second child of John McCallum and Jane McTavish was Nancy Ann b 26/01/1806 - I found a record of an Ann McCallum marrying 29/01/1828 at Glassary Archibald McCALLUM - possible children include Archibald 12 (0r 22) Nov 1828 - Kilmichael Glassary, Ann 4 Jan 1830 - Kilmichael and Lochgilphead, Donald about 1834, John 4 Sept 1837 at North Knapdale (mother Nancy), John 5 Mar 1839 North Knapdal;e and Archibald 5 Mar 1840. According to our McCallum Family history Ann died in Canada in 1866.

The other sister to apparently marry a Campbell was Jane - b 26 Sept 1824. She may have married an Archibald McCallum 13 Feb 1847 at North Knapdale - she apparently died in 1850 - do not know if that was in Scotland or Canada but supposedly in Canada.

I have no proff that these marriages are the correct ones. Would appreciate any information that may help to solve the puzzle.

Regards

Pat
