1860 1870 Census states they were in Hamilton County, Ohio at that time. John was 40 yrs. old in 1860 and Charles was 16 yrs. old. Looking for their ancestors.

My grandfather's name was John McCafferty. He died in Aliquippa Pa. in the 1940's. My father was Alvin Rex McCafferty born 4/23/1921 died 1/4/2000 he had six siblings, my father the youngest, all deceased. the family was not too close, so I'm not sure of thier children. I do know of my aunt Henrietta's son and three daughters, and aunt Levenia's daughter. Your John and Charles were old enough to have been my great grandfather and greatuncle. I hope I helped you. I do not have a Samuel in my Mccafferty line. I am not aware of any adoptions. All of my McCafferty's resided in Ohio. If there are any Ohio McCafferty's, I'd like to hear from them.

Jim, I'm wondering if you would know the names of the children of Charles S. McCafferty. Could that middle initial be for the name "Seigel"? I know that John McCafferty, my great-great grandfather came from Pennsylvania. He and his wife Jane Wallace had 10 children. The 1850 and later census shows them living in Cincinnati, Ohio. I wonder if Charles S. McCafferty could be the father of my John McCafferty?

My gggg grandfather Neil McCafferty and his family - wife Mary and children (that I know of) Katherine, James. Mary & Ellen came to Ohio between 1825-1830 - first to Guernsey County and then to Clark County. They emigrated from Ireland but possibly from Scotland before that around 1815. Would love to find a connection.
