i am a descendent of micajah poindexter whom i believe married sarah gist and i believe she was a sister to sequoyah. any info on sarah gist would be greatly appreciated.

I have considerable information on the family of Micajah POINDEXTER b 1811 NC.
Who are you descended thru ?
There's some uncertainty regarding the date of Sequoyah's birth, but Grant Foreman puts it at 1760. He died in 1843.
How do these dates fit with your Sarah GIST ?

My GGGrandfather was Micajah GGrandfather was Archibald Thomas and my Grandfather was Bedford Poindexter. My mothers maiden name is Geneva Poindexter. Sarah was my GGGrandmother. Archibold and his family (or at least his family) settled in Clay Co. TN. The brother Benjamin went to Texas and was a Texas Ranger so the family story goes. Please, any info you have re family would be greatly appreciated.
