I am a Frith by birth. My grandfather was William Henry Frith. My great-grandfather was John Henry Frith born abt 1850 - either Georgia, Missouri - those areas. Do you have any information?

I am sorry Sue, I have nothing for you. My Friths descend from Thomas B. Frith b. about 1757 in Hanover Co., VA.

I have a Thomas Didymus Frith, son of my paternal great, great, great grandfather, Thomas Benjamin Frith. My research shows he was born in 1797 in Morris Station, Georgia. He was, however, married to an Elizabeth
Scarborugh in 1817.

Don't know if this helps. Contact me at jimmylfrith@bellsouth.net if you care to.

Jimmy,
I am curiuos about your posting on Thomas Frith, husband of Elizabeth Scarbrough. In the 1850 Frnklin Co, VA census, Thomas stated he was age 73 and born in Virginia (c1778). His death record in 1861, lists his age as 84 yrs. What documentation did you find for the birth date of 1797 in Georgia?

Molly - I have info from Ancestry World Tree that listed Thomas Ditymus Frith's birth year as 1797 and death as 1875.
This info is from a descendant register, generation # 1.
I may have assumed that he was born in Georgia because I cannot find his actual birth place. Thanks for the inquiry and I will be glad to share any further documentation with you.

Jimmy

Thanks Jimmy,
Apparently whoever submitted the Thomas Frith lineage to World Tree did not actually research his life, as there are ample primary source documents to establish his age and birthplace. Unfortunately, on the Internet, false data tends to become accepted as true, but hopefully this will clarify a portion of his history.
