I have a complete transcript of all burials in Runcorn Cemetery from March 1860 to July 2005, and am willing to look up any burials and provide plot/grave numbers if this would be of any help to anyone.

Also the same information is available for Halton Village Cemetery from 1866 onwards.

I am looking for my Gt Grandfather Samuel Crosby who was a Seed, and General Provision retailer in Runcorn. His home was in Leinster Gardens. Samuel died 21 July 1904 His wife's name was Mary who I believe died c1880 The possibilty is they very well may be buried in Runcorn Cemetery - or another cemetery close by. I live in Oxfordshire, and any help you can give me in tracing their resting place would be of a great help in finding them when I plan to visit there this Spring or Summer. Thank you. Dear Mr. Crosby,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, there appears to be a problem in Ancestry informing me when there is a reply to the original message posted on the site.

Anyway, I have checked my Runcorn Burial Disc and I have found your Gt. Grandfather, Samuel, and his wife Mary, plust two other people in the same grave. Mary in fact died in 1923 aged 90 years.

If you would like us to, we will visit the cemetery tomorrow to check whether there is a headstone in situ and e.mail you a photograph if required. If you let me have your e.mail address to communicate with you directly I can also give the extract from the disc showing all the details of people in the grave.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Steve & Gill Jones

Hi Steve

Am hoping you can help me. My ggrandmother was Annie Hughes (nee Raynor)her husband was William!! I believe she was born in Stockport in 1866 and married William in 1882 in Runcorn, her last child Gladys was born in 1900. I have no idea when she died. Their son William married Ellen Thornhill.

Hi Peter,

I have checked both the Runcorn and Halton Cemetery burials for John Kemp Hastings, but unfortunately he is not buried in either of the two local cemeteries. There are only four people by the name of Hastings buried in Runcorn Cemetery and no-one of that name in Halton Cemetery.

Sorry I could not be of any help to you. The only other possibility if he was from Runcorn is that he may have been buried at All Saints Parish Church, but that would mean searching the parish registers which I'm afraid I don't have.

Regards,

Steve
