My family has strong connections with the Royal Munster Fusiliers. Michael Keough served in the 1st Battalion in the Boer War, John Moynihan served in the 5th Battalion for 14 years before WW1 and then with the Connaught Rangers, Edward Keogh served with the 8th Battalion in WW1 and John Keough served with the 9th, 7th and 6th Battalions in WW1. Dan Scanlan served with 2RMF from 1901 to 1910 and fought in the Mohmand Expedition in India in 1908. He was KIA in 1915 at Rue du Bois. There are some superb books on the RMF. I have a copy of Captain McCance's book on the RMF. Patrick McNamara's "The Widow's Penny" tells the stories of Limerick soldiers KIA in WW1. There are lots of references to the RMF. A full list of recipients of Boer War medals is at the National Archives in London. I hope this helps. Let me know if you want to know more. There is also a superb website dedicated to the RMF.
