http://search.ancestry.com/search/db.aspx?dbid=8851. If that doesn't work, you can access the census by searching his name, then in the section on the left that says, "Narrow by Category", then click "Census and Voter Lists", then 1930s - it should drop down as one of the choices.

If you have his DD-214, you can request his military file from the National Archives: http://www.archives.gov/veterans/military-service-records/. (I had no luck here, however, and contacted the US Coast Guard and submitted a Freedom of Information Act request. They were able to send me photocopies of a bunch of records.)
