Hi there Debland. I was a member of the 1st Bn of the Royal Australian Regiment, attached to the 173rd Airborne Brigade at Bien Hoa 1965-1966,the "Brigade" consisted of the 1/503Bn,2/503Bn and 1RAR,and attached units,we served with the Brigade on most of the Operations in Vietnam 3Corp area, notably "War Zone D","HoBo Woods",to name a couple. This was unique,as the last time Australians worked with the 503rd,was during WW11,in New Guinea. In Vietnam we cemeted a very good friendship, with our Yank buddies, this has continued to this day,via our 173rd Australian Chapter, all 1RAR members from that Vietnam tour, wear the US MUC awarded to 173rd with pride.Yes it was a Brigade, not a Division. ronwest6670.
