There was a Jessie/Jossie Hawkins b. 1880, d. 1957 in SC.
His father: Thomas G. Hawkins - b. 1832, mother: Frances Harriet Haine, b 1842. His son George - b. 1905, d. 1978 in Newberry, SC. His son Charles - b. 1902, d. 1959.
On one of the sites it lists Charles' father as Jossie and his mother as Mildred Thorpe, b. 1879, d. 1958, but that doesn't seem to add-up because Jossie was a widower in 1920.
I'll try to dig a little deeper.
