I despair of ever getting my DNA testing results. After over 16 weeks from paying my $99, I'm no nearer to getting my results. Shocking customer service.
June 11th - Invited to take part in AncestryDNA.
June 12th - Placed order, and paid $99.
June 26th - AncestryDNA kit shipped.
July 4th - Kit arrived. Sample taken, posted off, and activated.
August 24th - Told by ancestry that the DNA sample had been lost. They promised to send a replacement testing kit.
September 14th - Ancestry.com finally admit that they had received my DNA sample, but "Unfortunately, after multiple attempts, we were unable to use the saliva sample you previously sent to Ancestry.com"
September 21st - Eventually I receive an email saying that a replacement kit has been shipped to me. Wonder why it took nearly a month to ship?
October 4th - I queried why I hadn't received it yet.
TODAY - I'm told by ancestry.com that it takes a month to ship to the UK.
So, the first kit only took 8 days to arrive, but now ancestry.com say the replacement will take a month.
What a waste of $99. WILL I EVER GET MY DNA TESTED? I despair :(
EDIT: Just noticed that at http://dna.ancestry.com/status.aspx
it says that my order was shipped on 26 June. No mention of a replacement kit being sent. My guess is ancestry in the UK don't understand how to work the DNA system :( But all I get from them is "We have confirmed that the replacement kit has been shipped".
