My 3rd Great-grandmother was Peggy Hatfield in Carroll Co. OH in the early 1800s. I was wondering if anyone knew how she was kinked to Devil Anse. There was alot of intermarrying between the Hites and Hatfields in Hardin Co. OH in the early 1800s, so it gets confusing:
HITES/HATFIELD CONNECTION
Carroll Co
8/2/1810 Michael Hites Sr. marries Peggy Hatfield
Hardin Co.
12/27/1836 Elizabeth Hatfield marries George Hites, son of John II (brother to Michael Sr.) and Elizabeth Bowers.
4/2/1837 Catharine Hites, son of John II and Eliz Bowers, marries William Hatfield
12/7/1839 Nelson Hatfield marries Susan Hites, daughter of same
6/16/1845 John Hites III, son of same, marries Mary Hatfield
John II and Elizabeth bowers had two other children; Elizabeth and David, neither of which have any record of marrying or having children.
