Hi Barb,
I have a John Kristofek born in Slovakia in 1874 but he is not a match to your John. His parents were George and Katarina. My Kristofek family arrived in New York on June 8, 1888. They bought a farm in Westmoreland County, PA where they raised a total of 6 children.
- My great grandfather, George moved his young family to Chicago about 1905,
- John stayed on the farm, married Annie Swets and raised 12 children,
- Joseph must have died as a young child as I find only 1 reference,
- Mary married Joseph (Wassily) Shaffern and had 7 children. After Joseph died in the 1920s, she moved her family to Chicago,
- Anna married Frank Kolish and had 5 children. After Frank died in 1925, she moved her family to Cleveland, and
- Zophia (Sophie) married Walter Konjura and had 7 children. They all moved to Cleveland in the 1920s.
Good searching
Chris
