Do you have an ANA MARIA ORTIZ in your family?????

HELLO EVERYONE,

I am asking for your help to find my 1/2 sister, although I have never met her or even know her name. I recently learned of her existence and would love to find her. I know only a miracle will bring us together, since I don't have her name, DOB or birth place. But I believe in miracles, and know that someone knows something about my sister.

Her parents are:

LUIS DIAZ ONEILL (My Father) & ANA MARIA ORTIZ

My father had a brief relationship with Ana Maria in Caguas, PR, when she lived with her aunt/uncle's house in Caguas, PR. My father later moved to New York. They lost touch sometime before her birth and my father has asked that I try to find her.

I would love the opportunity to meet her and share our families, stories and just caught up.

My sister was born about 1964-1967. My father was told she looks like him, but never told where she was many years ago. My father is about 5'5, tanned skin, black wavy hair and green eyes.

If the story sounds familiar or you have any information about Ana Maria Ortiz or my Sister, please contact me at: imaginery02@yahoo.com.

Thank you and God Bless!

Old Spanish Racial Terminolgy?

I am abstracting information from a 1790 slave ship record (Slave Trade to Havana, Cuba, 1790 - 1820, from the DPLS website). The African slaves are classified as "Piexas", "Mulecones" , and "Muleques"

I have been to several spanish speaking chat rooms and no one seems to know what these words mean. One of my Hispanic friends has heard "Piexa" used to refer to a Black person of "non-mixed" heritage. The other words could be equivalent to "mulato" but I don;t understand the distinction between the two.
