Hello!

Does anyone have records on a Michael Magee from Belfast (°1896) who emigrated to Michigan in the 1920's, worked in Ford's, married a lady called Janet ..., had at least two children, George (°1934?) and Brian. I have found a grave which could very well be his in "Grand Lawn Cemetry", Wayne county, Michigan, which gives 1954 as his date of death.

Can anyone tell if it is possible to find worker records at Ford's Motorworks?

Thanks for any help you can give me!

Eamann O Ruairc (Brussels and Belfast)

Family name was also misspelled as Kelley in the 1881 census.
Kyran Kelly born about 1852, he married Adelia B. Collins on Nov. 26, 1879 in Ontario.
She was the daughter of John Collins and Margaret Burns (misspelled as Margret in 1881 census)She was born abt.1860.
Their son Frederick Kyran Kelly was born in Peck, Michigan on June 9,1984. He married Marguerite Catherine O'Donnell on October 7, 1916 in Wayne County, Michigan.
Marguerite O'Donnell was born on February 22, 1891, she was the daughter of James Henry O'Donnell and Margaret Glass. James Henry O'Donnell (2) was the son of James Henry O'Donnell (1) and Johanna Fitzgerald (Hannah in the 1880 Census).
Margaret Glass was the daughter of John (Eugene) Glass and Catharine (?). She had a brother named Daniel , Both Father John and son Daniel were in the Shoe Retail business.
Areas of Ontario were Perth North, Stratford and Middlesex. Areas of Michigan are Wayne County, Detroit and some of the Glass family ere in Ann Arbor, Washtenaw County. Also some of the Daniel E. Glass family moved to Buffalo, New York
I am hoping someone may recognize some of the surnames and help me gather information on the siblings of all names listed above or more marriage information.
Thank You, Rose Oyer Gauthier

Note I have a wealth of information on Anna Ziegler and her line.

Of particular interest is who is the Margaret Toolan and Alice Toolan who cared for Florence when Anna Ziegler Daily, her mother, died and she was eleven years old? There seems to be a strong family with surnames like Toolan, Boland, Taylor and Early who helped her. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

My sincere thanks,

Lori Hefner
Daniel Moriarty--Naturalized Where??

According to what I have so far (mostly from the 1900 census basically), Daniel Moriar<i>ty was born Dec 25 1827(or there bouts) in Ireland. He came over in 1864 and was naturalized. I think?? he might have come through Canada. In the 1870 and 1900 census, he was still in Michigan. I have 11-19-1921 as a date of death in Deer Lodge Montana.
One of his daughters (assuming he had more than 1), Mary married Michael Murphy. That line ended up in Montana.
Any clue as to where he might have come into America or where I could start in finding where he was naturalized?
Thanks!!

Hi, Im from Erie Pa, however, the Dougans are from and many still do live in Mich, I have visited there so many times, I felt like I had two homes.
William Dougan married Laura Sharp, in 1868. They left Ohio in 1872 and traveled to Grant Mich, by covered wagon, with there son. Williams father charles was married to Rachel Davis. Charles father was Matthew Dougan born in 1782, Dublin Ireland, he was married to Roxanna Mack. My father leonard Dougan is the son Of Glenn Dougan and Mildred Reinholdt Dougan Grant Mich. Glenn lived in Ashland before Grant Mich, which I understand now is a village, or considered village status. Anyway, anyone out there know my family Id love to hear from you. Thanks Linda Dougan, Erie PA

Mason Family in Oakland County, Michigan

I am looking for William Mason, Born about 1804 in Ireland, married a Margaret McGillery, born about 1804 in Scotland. From the Census records, it looks like they left Ireland somewhere around 1835-1840(?) and came to Michigan by way of Canada. They had several children, my gggrandfather being one of them. His name was Richard Mason, b 1848 in Troy, Oakland, MI. He married Viola L. Jenney in 1869, had 3 children with her, then divorced somewhere between 1885 and 1895. Richard then married Savilla Potter in 1900. They had no children. Does this ring a bell for anyone? If anyone out there has any information on the William Mason family of Troy, Oakland, MI, I would love to hear from you!

Family folklore mentions that some of my male O'Neil/l ancestors emmigrated to Michigan upon arriving in the US during the 1840's. My branch, Patrick J. O'Neil, settled in the West Hurley/Kingston, NY area, but there were two or three more brothers.
Any thought wil be appreciated.

Elusive Family

I appeal to any reader with Irish connections to search their Family Tree for any mention at all of OLLARD. I know that the family existed in Ireland, but they appear on no Notice Boards except for my own postings and replies thereto, all negative, and only two mentions are in Griffiths. But my gggrandfather was definitely Irish. They must have all emigrated, so please keep a look-out for one for a desperate fellow genealogist!
Thank you, and go well! Ivy Trott.

Irish in the U.P. of Michigan

My great grandfather, William Cleary, and his brother, Patrick, came to the U.P. thru Canada...I am not sure what port they came into. They were here by 1860-68....I think he got married in 68. They were only 18 and 19, and married and lived here until they died. We only know their parents names, and nothing of their life in ireland, except the town, Nenaugh, Tipperary.
Their father was Denis and their mother, Elizabeth (Eliza) Parker Cleary.
I have contacted a woman in that town, by the name of Rosemary Cleary and she is posting my queries and pics I sent her, in their auto garage, so maybe the customers will see it and be a relative. I will post more later if I get a bite.!!!!!!!!

IVORY

My g-g-grandparents (William Ivory and Ellen Corcoran Ivory) and their infant daughter Catherine moved from Brooklyn to Pentwater in time to be included in the 1870 census for that town. However, the obituaries of two of their children who died in Chicago 30 years later read "Ludington, Mich., papers please copy." So they may have lived there as well. I have reason to believe that my g-g-grandfather worked for a railroad or a ferry line from Ludington to Sheboygan. Perhaps there was a rail-ferry at that time. Any info would be helpful.

Sweeneys, Judges, Kanes, Tighes, McHales, Kennedys, Haleys,Hunderlock,Fanning,Murphy

I am looking for descendants of Francis and Patrick Sweeney who came from Ireland to Ontario in the 1840s and to Michigan in the 1870s. The Sweeneys were in Gratiot and Isabella Counties and Saginaw too. Both were married to women named Mary Fox and I would love to find some Fox family history. The Judges went to Ontario in 1830 and came to Michigan in the 1850s or 60s and had a farm in Winn in Isabella County. This was Thomas Judge and Dora Tighe Judge and their 12 children. The other names are intermarried with these two families. Additional names who are connected are Jordan, Troy, LeStrange, Lane, McNulty, McAuley, and Hall.
