ALBION - Minnie Belle WLASCHIN, 103, of Albion died Wednesday, March 19,
2003. Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in
Albion with the Rev. Frank Baumert officiating. Burial will be at the church
cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today at the Levander Funeral Home in
Albion with a 6:30 p.m. wake service. Mrs. Wlaschin was born June 28, 1899,
in Albion to Isaac and Isabelle (Burns) McHenry. She attended elementary
school at Boone County School District 23 and graduated from Albion High
School in 1917. Following graduation, she taught school for 6 years.

She married Edward Wlaschin on May 28, 1924, at Council Bluffs, Iowa. They
lived and farmed on the family farm. She worked as a bookkeeper at Farmers
Union in Albion for many years. Following her husband's' death in 1959, she
moved into Albion. She moved to the Wolf Memorial Good Samaritan Center in
1995. She was a member of the church, the Altar Society, and the Boone County
Hospital Auxiliary. Survivors include a daughter, Marianne Kittelson of
Elgin; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in
death by her parents; husband; one daughter, Eleanore Scholl; two
son-in-laws; two sisters; three brothers; one grandchild; and one
great-grandchild.
