Looking at Ellis Island records, I discovered that my great-grandmother, Ellen Damberg, arrived in the US in 1924 at the age of 51 and that she had listed her brother, Carl Swahn, of 6808 St. Lawrence Street, Chicago, IL as the person she intended to meet. I don't believe she ever went to Chicago, as the rest of her family joined her in New York months later, but it came as quite a surprise to me to discover we had other relatives in the US. I had always heard there were none. Is there any chance that your Carl Swahn is the same as my Carl Swahn
