Daniel Andries (Andrews) Mudie

I'm looking for ancestors and/or descendants of Daniel Mudie who got married in the Netherlands on the 4th of january 1598. The marriagerecord lists him as a soldier from Scotland.
Does anyone have any information on this person?

Looking for anyone with Scotch-Irish ties that have Huntington's Disease in families. My Whitman family was in the Augusta, VA area in 1725-1830. Huntington's is in the Whitman family. The Whitman's are listed in several documents referring to Scotch-Irish. Is Whitman Scotch-Irish? Anyone having information please email me. I am trying to find out when and how HD entered into the Whitman line. I do not want to expose anyone that has HD in their families to the world.

There's a great little website called ePodunk.com that has all sorts of great info. While browsing around there this morning I found a map of locations with the highest concentrations of those who describe their ancestry as Scots-Irish. In the 2000 census, 4,319,232 people in the U.S. claimed Scotch-Irish ancestry.

ePodunk mapped the top communities by percentage of population. The map and the accompanying list show communities in which 1,000 or more people listed an ancestry group, and in which at least 7 percent of those people said they were Scotch-Irish.
