Hi Melissa

I can really relate to your post. Shortly after starting my family history, my late husband and I visited Scotland. At the time all I knew was that some of my ancestors once lived in Kirkcaldy. En route to Kirkcaldy we drove through a quaint little town called Aberdour and decided to stop for a while to stretch our legs. The moment we started walking along one of the cobble stone streets I had the very strong feeling of having been there before. A few minutes later I told my husband that if we turned left at the next street, there would be some old houses with beautiful gardens and if we sat on the white bench in front of one of the houses we'd catch a glimpse of the sea.

My husband laughed and commented on my vivid imagination, but led the way turning left at the next street where he stopped abruptly. The sight that greeted him was exactly as I'd described it.

After returning home to Australia, I began working in ernest on the family history and was not at all surprised surprised to learn that several generations of my family had actually lived in Aberdour.

I have had a number of stange experiences whilst researching my family tree and now that I've discovered this really interesting site, I must write them up.

Cheers Trish
