I have quite a bit of history on the ancestors of Austin Blair De Savigny right back to the early 1700's in France.
I believe Austin Blair Savigny's ggg grandfather was John Horatio Savigny (m. Elizabeth Paine). JH was a cutler and surgical instrument maker of some repute, as were several generations of Savigny's going back from there.
One of John Horatio Savigny (m. Elizabeth Paine) sons, John Horatio Savigny (m. Agnes Blair) emmigrated to Canada (actually I think at least one other brother also emmigrated there); another son, William Henry Savigny (m. Mary Ann Cooksey) emmigrated to Australia. They were my gggg grandparents.
One of the 11 children of JHS and Agnes Blair was Andrew Blair Savigny (m. Jane Sheppard); they in turn had I think 12 children, one of which was William Horatio Savigny (m. Verona House). They had two children, Austin Blair and Muriel.
If I've got it worked out right, you and I are 5th cousins.
I've been trying to piece together the 'Nicauraguan connection' off and on for a couple of years now. Hopefully you will see this message and you get in touch!
