Classification: Query
Surnames: Rattray, Perchard
This is a (bad) photo of a painting in my grandmother's possession. I am trying to find the genealogical history (if any) surrounding it.

Background: My grandmother inherited this, but I don't know from whom. The Rattray family lived in Channel Islands and Lille, France, but as far as I know were British citizens. I believe Rattray is a Scottish name. The Summers family was from Scotland, and the Perchard family was from France or Channel Islands.
Is there any way to tell from what country a coat of arms might be?
The crest is unfortunately cut off in the photo, but I recall that there was no helmet, only a small scallop shell in the center. Does anyone know what the significance is?
I am aware that we have no rights to use this coat of arms but I would like to identify for the sake of family history.
