Hi Neil,
I too am trying to find the same info. My great grandparents were born in England around 1864 and left for South Africa (don't know when) and came to Australia in 1904. My grandmother and her two sisters were born in Capetown. I found a link to St Marks Anglican Church District 6.
Ancestry24.co.za is a site that may be able to help you. Try that site first or try National Archives of South Africa and if you know which district they lived in click on the suitable link e.g. Cape Town is KAB or TBK. Good luck.
Regards
Liz
