Trying to find ancestor on ship manifest
I have a declaration of intent document of my great grandfather which says he arrived in New York from Hamburg on 20 Dec 1907 on the SS President Grant. I looked on ancestry and this ship did indeed arrive in NY on that date but I searched all 148 pages of the document and could not find my great-grandfather (Ignacy Buczynski). I investigated any name that even remotely could have been his to no avail. Does anyone have any idea of why a person would not be found on a manifest or if there are pages missing,etc?
