He went to Harvard in 1848 but didn't graduate from there. Is there a place where I could get a list of Med Schools in that time period.
Thanks

I am looking for any descendants of the above (or any information about him).

He was born in Ohio c.1853, the son of the Revd Daniel Steele (birthplace Tyrone, Ireland) who migrated to the USA with his wife Mary Anderson.

I understand he graduated from the Chicago Medical School in 1873, and subsequently became a Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery, and in 1895 was President of "Chicago Hospital". He is said to have produced many academic works related to his profession (but I can't find any reference to them through Internet searches).

I wish to find descendants, or anything which would add to my biographical information about him. Being a seemingly prominent medico, hopefully there is further record of his life.

I am descended from a sister of his father's.

Does anyone know anything .. or have any ideas which might help point me in the right direction?
