I haven't really seen this topic addressed. In my late 30's I searched and found my birth parents. I then became interested in my lineage and began the genealogy journey. I'm not interested in creating a family tree based on my adoptive parents family. This is about my true lineage. My question is how to indicate my parents weren't married? Sore subject, but the truth. When creating a family tree, the assumption is that my father was my mother's husband. Any suggestions?
