OK my parents were each other's 2nd marriages. Would I necessarily need to add their first spouses? I have half-siblings through my dad but does that mean his 1st wife is related to me in any way? And I am my mother's only child... so what would be a good enough reason to add her 1st husband to my tree? To me "just because" isn't enough.
